Joining the ‘Training Barn” one year mentorship programme has been one of the best decisions I have made, to say I was nervous was an understatement, to take my photography forward would mean initially balancing two jobs as I have quite a high mortgage and other bills to pay. However, my time with Emily and Hannah has definitely helped me grow so much, they are so friendly and welcoming with a massive amount of knowledge that they openly share. I personally have a quiet and nurturing personality which is not best suited to running a business, this group has nevertheless helped me put all this into perspective which has been hard. Through the support ofEmily and Hannah my photography and business skills have grown and I have had the confidence to approach my photography in a more professional way (even after owning my own wedding studio back in the 80’s), this has helped me to grow a visible presence within the equine community. Emily and Hannah with the friendly approachability and professionalism, have been very supportive throughout with encouragement and a kick up the back side when needed. I must mention that all the other group member have also been there for support and encouragement when feeling down and I feel that we have grown as friends over the year. I am for one are going to miss the bi–monthly get togethers, I whole heartedly recommend the one year course to anyone considering a career as an EquinePortrait Photographer.

The 1 year Training Barn mentorship programme really has been the best thing I have ever done. My knowledge of the equine photography industry and my understanding and grasp of equine photography has improved massively (and this is obviously what the course promises) but what is harder to put into words is how thoroughly enjoyable this year has been. From the ‘get go’ the first module hit the ground running and I loved every single minute of it thereafter.I longed for the next two days to come around and drove away from that magical little place so incredibly enthused–on each and every occasion. Emily is, as she has always been, incredibly professional and about as knowledgeable as you can be about the equine photography market–she shares that knowledge and experience openly and readily. She is supportive and so very kind but equally ready to push you to where she thinks you should be. Add to the mix the unbridled enthusiasm and passion for the equine photography industry clearly so evident in Hannah that it becomes quite a formidable partnership!It’s so clear to see that both Emily and Hannah love sharing their knowledge and developing aspiring photographers and that pleasure spills over in the group and this is a very big part of what makes it such a lovely year. The end of the of the year was surprisingly emotional but friendships were made on the courseI know will last a lifetime. Thanks Emily and Hannah xx

I wish I had known Emily and Hannah all my life – their unbridled knowledge and enthusiasm for mentoring on the 1-year training programme has been epic. Not only that they have boosted my confidence personally and as a photographer. They have both been paramount in kick-starting my equine photography business and I thank them whole-heartedly for that. I wish I could keep them for life!

When they bring you into the Training Barn it feels like you’re in a bubble – they’re both warm, friendly and professional – it’s a safe haven for talking, listening and sharing ideas plus I have made some lovely friends along the way. It’s been a magical, emotional but hugely fun year.
